Living In Flow

Recently, I’ve been able to experience what it feels like to be in flow. As I write this, I am in complete flow with higher forces that I don’t fully understand.

Living in flow means you are in alignment with the universe. I don’t think there is anything higher than this state of being.

Yet, in reality, this state of consciousness is accessible to every one of us. And in this article, I’ll try to explain how that happens.

It all starts with an intense work on ourselves. Flow is the result of a process of dissolution — reaching a stage where you are just a vessel and your rational mind is no longer in command.

A vessel for what? This is the question that terrified me for a long time and kept me from entering this state.

A vessel for God, Spirit, Love… Whatever you want to call it. It doesn’t matter what religion you come from or what you believe.

When you are in flow, everything becomes effortless. You are no longer resisting and you are being led. To be in flow, we must love reality as it is and remove ourselves from the way.

Of course, this is easier said than done. You can think about being in flow, but the truth is, you need to live it with your soul.

When we are in flow we become something bigger than ourselves. For a moment, there is no ego and we are just one with nature.

Sure, this sounds like being a slave. In some aspects it’s true, you are surrendering yourself to something else. But in reality, this is absolute freedom.

Freed from your wants and desires, you are able to embrace far more of the world around you. You become one with the universe.

The funny part is that this state doesn’t make you inactive, quite the contrary. Sure, you sometimes fall into intense feelings of bliss, but most of the time, you are taking action.

Someone in flow is a servant of God — he is aligned with forces that are far bigger than himself and he is doing what is asked from him.

So flow isn’t only about acceptance, it’s also about change. You start taking actions that will take you and the rest of the world to a better place.

Flow is the closest state to perfection I have experienced. Perfect because it is completely unpredictable.

When we are in flow, we cannot predict what will happen. Yet, our desire for control is so big that just understanding the concept of flow is an arduous task.

On the spiritual path, we learn to dissolve our ego through various means. Meditation, yoga, spiritual retreats… These are all valid ways.

But the most powerful one I have experienced is service. When you surrender yourself to serving others, your spiritual growth jumps to a whole new level.

When I went into my deepest states of flow, it was always in service to something or someone.

When we are aligned with the flow of the universe, a tremendous surge of energy takes control of us.

Suddenly, we are much bigger than ourselves.

For a moment, we are one with God.

We have surrendered to the flow of love.
